Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy

A Major Breakthrough for Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) affects approximately 1 in 4 men, and evidence suggests the incidence is rising. To date, most of the common treatments for ED do not address the root cause of the endothelial dysfunction found with ED.

The use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as a targeted therapy for inflammation, the promotion of tissue regeneration, and the formation of new blood vessels may represent a promising potential treatment for ED.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the healing of tissue where an injury or tissue damage has occurred. PRP includes seven (7) different growth factors responsible for accelerated healing.

PRP injections have been used for decades to aid in the development of new blood vessels and wound healing for conditions such as; acute sports injuries, damaged tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints, and orthopedic surgeries.

Additionally, PRP is used in the practice of ophthalmology, cardiology, plastic surgery, and dermatology.

In addition to improving function, PRP can also help reduce pain associated with these conditions – minimizing the need for anti-inflammatories or other harmful pain medications.

PRP therapy supports the fact that the body has the ability to heal itself. It is an all-natural, safe and effective regeneration procedure.

Most recently, PRP therapy in the form of the Priapus Shot®, also known as the P-Shot, is successfully being used to treat Erectile Dysfunction (ED). With the application of PRP for ED, there is a dramatic improvement in the ability to achieve an erection, and maintain an erection, as well as the means for better orgasms, stamina, and firmness.

MORE benefits of PRP for Erectile Dysfunction:

  • Increases circulation within the penis for a healthier organ
  • Enhances the sensation and pleasure
  • Improves the strength of the penis, with a slight increase in length/girth
  • Advances the effect of other therapies (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, etc.)

How The P-Shot Works

The PRP injected into the penis contains a high concentration of platelets that release growth factors and other proteins responsible for cellular repair and the formation of new blood vessels.

These growth factors trigger stem cells and collagen production to help in restoring damaged tissue. The aftermath is a significant improvement in penile blood flow.

PRP Therapy & Peyronie's Disease

Peyronie's Disease is a curvature or indentation in the penis due to scar tissue, called fibrotic plaque which develops over time. The scar tissue can cause a hard bump in the outer layer of the erection chambers in the penis. It can cause pain and often erectile dysfunction.

Causes

The exact cause of Peyronie's Disease is uncertain; however, most experts agree trauma to a semi-erect or erect penis during sexual activity is in most cases the cause of the inflammation within the penile tissues which eventually turns into fibrotic plaque.

Treatments

Current treatments for Peyronie's Disease are costly and involve multiple injections of medication (Xiaflex). Recently many patients have been choosing PRP therapy to treat Peyronie's Disease.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is considered a regenerative autologous treatment, which means it comes from your own blood and can stimulate cellular regeneration and tissue repair. When activated, platelets release numerous growth factors, cytokines, and chemokines.

The P-Shot protocol includes several injections of PRP (the number of injections is dependent on the degree of curvature) over several weeks. Additional concurrent therapies such as Acoustic Wave Therapy, the use of a vacuum pump, and specific supplements can result in improvements in curvature and/or resolve penile curvature altogether.

I was skeptical and embarrassed. This was my last resort as pills stopped working. They came up with a treatment plan and supplement program. I feel great and have my sex life back. Love stopping in and seeing my new friends when its time to pick up my supplements.

Benefits for optimal sexual performance include:

  • Increase in sexual stamina
  • Increased sensation and pleasure
  • Enhanced appearance, additional length, and girth*

If you seek optimal sexual wellness and want to improve overall vascular function, nerve sensitivity in the penis, and erectile function – the P-Shot is for you!

Tell Me More...FAQ's

We are all about keeping you up to date so you can make informed decisions regarding your erectile health. Here are the answers to a few questions you may have:

Where did the name P-Shot come from?

P-Shot is a shortened name for the Priapus Shot. It was coined by Dr. Charles Runels, the inventor of the P-Shot, after he discovered the use of PRP for male sexual rejuvenation. Priapus is the Greek god of fertility.

What benefits can I expect from the P-Shot?
  • Better blood flow
  • Improved sexual stamina (easier to achieve and keep an erection)
  • Slightly increased penile length and girth
  • Stronger, firmer erections
  • Better sensitivity in the penis
  • Resolution of pain with erections
How long do results from the P-Shot last?

Given the fact that the PRP has been indicated for the treatment of ED, Peyronies and sexual performance for only the last five years, it’s difficult to say how long the full affect may be. The hallmark of PRP is the release of healing factors into the penis to promote an enhanced healing response to the existing tissues, blood vessels and nerve endings that have been lost with age and disease state.

Therefore, people will respond differently depending on their present age, aging process, existing general health and lifestyle factors. So, it’s relatively impossible to judge and outcome on any particular patient.

That being said, the data appears to report that after the maximum results occur (6-8 weeks after treatment) the effects are generally seen for 18-24 months. Indications are that some men are electing for a second shot to maintain the level of benefit they initially achieved.

What is the process of receiving a P-Shot?
  1. Your blood will be drawn and processed in a specially designed centrifuge which separates the platelets and the plasma from the rest of the blood.
  2. While your blood is being processed a combination of Betyrcain, Lidocaine and Tetracaine cream (numbing agent) will be applied to your penis to decrease sensitivity during the injections.
  3. The isolated platelets, which is now referred to as PRP, is ready to be injected into the penis at specific points per protocol.
  4. Post-procedure you will be instructed how to use a vacuum penis pump, which use is essential to achieve optimal erections. You will be required to pump twice per day for 10-minutes.
  5. You may resume regular activities immediately following the procedure (work, errands, driving, gardening, etc.), and resume sexual activities 4 hours after the procedure.

The procedure is completed in our OSHA approved lab and takes about 60-minutes from start to finish.

Are there any side effects to expect after the procedure?

Since the PRP is derived from your own blood, there are no known adverse effects from the PRP. You may experience minor bleeding, bruising and/or swelling at the injection sites which quickly resolves. Infection could potentially occur, however is very rare..
